Franklin Cemetery
Deale, Anne Arundel County, Maryland

Mallard Drive, Deale, Maryland

Lat: 38° 47' 22"N, Lon: 76° 33' 09"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, May 22, 2007 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 12.

From the intersection of Highway 256 (Deale-Churchton Road), and Swamp Circle Road, turn onto Swamp Circle Road and go .15 miles northwest until you reach Mallard Drive. Turn there and go south/southwest for .1 miles. The cemetery is on the west side of the road in between two houses.

This is a small family cemetery that is in fair shape. The cemetery grounds are kept up, but there is about 3-4 broken headstones with missing pieces. The cemetery was on the property of Dr. Robert Franklin. The man who lived next door to the cemetery showed me the cemetery. His name was Baum Gardiner. He also had a copy of the names of the people buried in the cemetery that was done in 1995. The cemetery was used from 1828 to 1893.

I visited and walked this cemetery on May 12, 2007.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
