From Highway 167, exit on 15th Street SW in Auburn. Head west on 15th St SW to West Valley Highway S. Turn North onto West Valley Rd to Mountain View Drive. Turn left up hill to cemetery.

Mountain View Cemetery is located up on the West Hill side of Auburn and overlooks the Auburn and South King County valley. Itis a very large cemetery that has annual interments of 300 on average.

The cemetery is fenced in and the gates are unlocked during specific times. It is a very nicely kept cemetery. There are a few stones that were nearly impossible to read as the stones sink into the ground a little and the grass grows over them. The earliest burial was for 1880.

Mountain View Cemetery, a division of the City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department, is a self supporting municipal cemetery that does not rely on any tax revenues for operation and maintenance. As an endowed care facility, all above ground structures, roadways turf and landscaping are maintained by City staff now and in the future. Private property, such as individual headstones and vases, are owned by the respective family and their care is the responsibility of the family.

I walked and reread all the visible stones in the cemetery in Apr to Jun of 2010.
