History
Christ Cathedral Memorial Gardens was established in 1991 under the name "Crystal Cathedral Memorial Gardens" as part of Rev. Robert Schuller's Crystal Cathedral empire. When Schuller filed for bankruptcy protection in 2011, the cemetery, along with the entire Crystal Cathedral complex, was sold to The Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. The Diocese changed the name of the building complex to "Christ Cathedral".
Unlike other Catholic cemeteries, Christ Cathedral Memorial Gardens is open to people of all faiths and denominations.
