Total records = 1,711.
From Odessa head west out of town on hwy. 28 for about 1 1/2 blocks.
The cemetery is on the north side of the road and is characterized
by a memorial tank, flagpole, and chapel in honor of those who served
in the armed forces.
This cemetery was originally used by a local church but
has since become the town cemetery. The grounds and markers are
exceptionally well maintained esp. considering the age of some of
them. This cemetery is still in use today.
The earliest burial I could find was two in 1893 although their
were 2 unreadable markers that may, predate them.
Carol Kniola, the deputy clerk, was especially helpful as she
provided me with a copy of previous transcription done in 1984,
by Harold Suchland. Sadly Harold passed away in 1994.
Inquiries about records of burials should be directed to the
Town clerk, dclerk@odessaoffice.com or she can be contacted by
phone or snail mail: 509-982-2401, 21 E. 1st Ave, Odessa Wa. 99159
I have transcribed from my survey of the cemetery, done on Oct
11 & 12 2002, and compared it with the previous transcription.
