History

Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery is located in Harborcreek Township, east of Belle Valley on Norcross Road. The cemetery borders Wintergreen Gorge, a 250-foot-wide ravine for which the cemetery was named. The "Wintergreen" name comes from the aromatic, low-growing evergreen shrub once abundant in the area.

Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery was designed by Horace W. Peaslee, who also designed Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Bladensburg, MD.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
