The cemetery is located along Mt. Sinair-Coram Rd, at the north-east corner with Middle Country Rd, in a wooded area. When looking at this cemetery on Suffok County's parcel map, it's a long rectangular plot of land, currently owned by the Town of Brookhaven.

Cemetery History

The cemetery was once a private family cemetery belonging to Elijah Davis, who built a house just south of the cemetery in the 1850s. Elijah's house would eventually become known as the "Davis Meeting House", used by town locals to discuss civic affairs.

The house and cemetery was deeded to Elijah's decendants over the generations until Lester H. Davis III sold the house to the Town of Brookhaven in 1999. The Town later acquired the cemetery, which still owns it as of this publishing. Read more about the history of the Davis Meeting House and cemetery at: http://www.davistownmeetinghouse.org

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
