To reach the Barnes Cemetery from Boone, drive north on NC 194, turn left or west onto Howard Creek Road, then right onto State Hwy 1320/Howard Creek Church Road. The cemetery is on the right side of the road.

This cemetery is in good condition. History and ownership is unknown, but it appears to be a family cemetery. The first listed burial was in 1875 and it is still being used for burials occasionally.

I completed reading and transcribing this cemetery from all existing and legible headstones and markers on Nov 01, 2006.
