Contributed by Shirley Olson, Dec 28, 2005 [email@example.com]. Total records = 14.Dir: Take Hwy. 54 West (Chapel Hill Rd.) to the Durham Co. line. Immediately after crossing into Durham Co., take a left turn onto SR 1637 (Church Rd.), which angles back into Wake Co. Take the first right onto SR 1639 (Kit Creek Rd.), go a few hundred feet to a parking area where there is a high mound with railroad tie stairs leading up to the cemetery.
There is massive construction going on all around the cemetery site, huge houses, lots of them. The property owners, KCR Developers, LLC, has treated the cemetery with respect and left it in place. The cemetery is very small and no longer in use. Many thanks to Audrey Evans who found this cemetery.
Most of the interred are buried under small imbedded rocks that serve as markers, with one large tombstone bearing all of the names.
There are 2 separate headstones which repeat 2 of the names appearing on the large tombstone. *
I walked the cemetery and recorded all that was inscribed on Dec 15, 2005.- Shirley Olson
