Goodrich Cemetery (Lane Cemetery)
Pittsford, Hillsdale County, Michigan

Lat: 41° 51' 18"N, Lon: 84° 23' 27"W
Pittsford Twp, Section 14

Submitted by Julie Witkowski, Jul 28, 2007 [jfwski@hotmail.com]. Total records = 181.

This cemetery is located on the north side of M34 about 4-1/2 miles east of the village of Pittsford. Also, locally known as Lane Cemetery, being situated near the Lane Schoolhouse in the 1830s.

The land for the cemetery was homesteaded by Ozen Keith from NY in 1834. In the winter of 1835-36 Ozen Keith cleared 1 acre in section 14 for a cemetery & in the summer of that year he buried his 86 year old mother there. Later he sold part of the land the cemetery is on to a man named Goodrich.

This includes all existing and legible stones and markers in this cemetery which I completed in July of 2007.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
