Total records = 1,113.
Take Exit 82 from I-35. Go west on an asphalt road, this is Falun Road. At the stop sign, go north on Burma Road 1 mile.
As you come to a curve, you will see a 2 tower church in the east. As the road curves, you will see a gravel road going north.
Turn east and you will be at the cemetery. The cemetery is 4 miles south of Smolan.
The cemetery is owned and maintained by the Salemsborg Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. It is still in use today and is very well kept up.
The
church, itself, began in 1861 as a sod church. Members of many of the same families back to the original immigrants are laid
to rest here. There are also many of the same name, but not of the same families interred close to one another and scattered
throughout the cemetery.
If you are researching this cemetery, you may also wish to research the already completed Smolan Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery and also the Mission Hill Cemetery. These
cemetaries are between a 5-6 miles area and include members of the same family.
These records were
taken from the stones themselves in spring of 2002.
