Directions: The cemetery is on the eastern edge of Section 24, T12N, R22E, 3/4 mile south of Highway 24, six miles west of the junction of Highway 24 with Highway 241. It was once apparently a part of the Meeboer Ranch and is reached by a "jeep" road along the section line.

Background: Although Metzker's map of Yakima County gives the name of this inactive cemetery as the Black Rock Cemetery, it is generally known as the Meeker Cemetery, for the Meeboer family, who changed their name to Meeker. The Cemetery served the Black Rock area, a farming development and village of the turn of the century which was heavily promoted but failed for lack of water. Today, the area contains some dryland wheat and cattle operation.
