Directions: Located in the far western edge of Spokane, technically just outside of city limits, the cemetery sits along the west side of Government Way, and north of the intersection with Greenwood Rd.

Background: Greenwood Memorial Terrace was founded in 1888 during the era when Spokane was transitioning from a frontier town to a more established city. Prominent local businessmen, including A. M. Cannon, helped purchase the land. Over the decades it expanded into a terraced, wooded site of more than 150 acres. In the mid-20th century the cemetery, originally known simply as Greenwood Cemetery, was renamed Greenwood Memorial Terrace and later became part of the Fairmount Memorial Association.
