Directions: Located in the northwestern portion of Spokane city limits, the cemetery's main entrance lies at the far western end of Wellesley Ave, along the east bank of Spokane River.

Background: Fairmount Memorial Park is one of Spokane's oldest and most prominent burial grounds, originally established as Fairmount Cemetery on May 29, 1888, serving early Spokane as its official city and county burial ground and becoming known locally as a "Pioneer Cemetery." Today's it spreads out over 160 acres overlooking the Spokane River and the Bowl and Pitcher area. It is now operated by the nonprofit Fairmount Memorial Association, which manages several cemeteries in the Inland Northwest.
