Directions: From Leavenworth, take state highway 209 north, past Cascade High School. After about 1/4 mile, take the North Road to the right, crossing Chumstick Creek. Continue past the railroad underpass and take the first dirt road to the left, notice a sign saying "Leavenworth Cemetery." You will drive about 1/4 mile though the orchard.

Background:

Believed to have started in the late 1890s, the cemetery is considered to be Leavenworth's first cemetery. In 1907, Leavenworth Cemetery Association took ownership, though some years later, the organization disbanded. For many years the cemetery went without ownership. Today, the Chelan County Assessor still shows the owner as "Leavenworth Cemetery Assn" but with a mailing address belonging to the City of Leavenworth.

The cemetery is also known as "Old Leavenworth Cemetery" and "Pioneer Cemetery". Signage currently erected at the cemetery shows "North Road Cemetery".
