Background:

The grave of Freddie Weissenfels is on Weissenfels Ridge, on the old F.C. Hollenbeck place, across (east) the road from the buildings (only the barn and corrals are standing now). Follow the old road that circles around the bench, and it will lead you close to the grave. Joseph was the son of John A. Weisenfels (sic), 1878 settler in the region, for whom Weissenfels Ridge is named. There was a picket fence around the grave which has fallen down. Nearby is a fir tree that has died, but is still standing in the rather forlorn looking area.
