Directions: Note: The GPS coordinates and PLSS coordinates above place the cemetery at a different location than what Google Maps and Find-a-Grave shows it as. We believe the GPS coordinates and PLSS coordinates is correct based on the description in the Background below, as well as what is marked as "Graves" on the 1971 USGS Map for the "Saddle Butte, WA" quadrangle. We believe someone incorrectly marked this cemetery on Google Maps, and then later someone copied that location to Find-a-Grave. Also note: the Link at the top of this page "Open in Google Maps" takes you to the incorrect location that Find-a-Grave has.

Background:

The Green Place Cemetery, T6N R43E Section 11, is located on the knob east of the log farm house of pioneer Jesse R. Greene, on the Grouse Flat Bench in southwestern Asotin County, about three quarters of a mile north of the Oregon line, and four miles east of the Garfield County line, and located on the brakes of the large Wenatchee Canyon to the east and the Grande Rounde River Canyon to the south, with the Lost Prairie area of northern Wallowa County, Oregon, across the Grande Rounde Canyon. The graves are located on the north side of the knob.

(Note: Martha Elizabeth Greene Young was the sister of Jesse R. Greene (Jesse was the father of Harlan Greene). Martha Elizabeth, was my Great Grandmother.
