Directions: Located on the east side of Dublin city limits, the cemetery sits along the east side of Bagging Plant Rd, adjacent to Lions Club Rd and Lions Field.

Background: The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery was dedicated on May 6, 2011, as the third state-operated veterans cemetery established by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. The 80-acre site was developed with assistance from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ State Cemetery Grants Program, which funded the majority of its construction costs. The cemetery’s first 24 acres provide more than 5,000 burial spaces, with future phases planned to accommodate over 20,000 veterans and eligible dependents.
