Directions: Located along the west side of Broadway St (NY State Route 32, Empire State Trl), along the west bank of the Hudson River, about 400 feet south of the intersection with 13th St, in a grass field. Closest street address is 1243 Broadway.

Background: It was originally believed that the Watervliet Arsenal Post Cemetery was established sometime between 1910 and 1918; however it's quite clear from the tombstones that many of the interments happened long before that. The tiny size of the cemetery has contributed to much not being known about it. As the arsenal grounds upon which the cemetery currently resides began to grow and develop, the small cemetery was forgotten about. It was not properly cared for, nor do many records still exist. It wasn't until much later that effort was made to ensure the cemetery received the regular care it deserved. The cemetery currently sits in a corner of the arsenal grounds with few visitors each year.
