Background: Montana Veterans Home Cemetery was established in 1897 as part of the Montana State Soldiers’ Home Historic District. The cemetery was set aside to inter the remains of residents at the veterans home. It contains more than 800 graves to date. Notable interments include veterans such as Private Fred C. Hunt, a Medal of Honor recipient.
