Directions: Located inside the US Naval Academy grounds, the cemetery sits on the north shore of College Creek right where it empties into Severn River. From downtown Annapolis, take King George St north, cross over College Creek. Immediately on the other side of the creek, turn right into Bishop Stadium and follow the driveway along the creek to the other side, and turn right on to Bowyer Rd. Take an immediate left on to Phythian Rd into the cemetery.

Background: Located on 6.7 Acres of Hospital Point, The Naval Academy Cemetery overlooks the Severn River and College Creek. The Cemetery is the final resting place of over 6,000 souls.

The Cemetery was founded in 1868 after the Naval Academy acquired a parcel of land, known as Strawberry Hill, just across the creek from the campus. The acquisition was part of an expansion effort following the American Civil war.
