This inventory was compiled when we raised money to rehab the cemetery (around 2003). This was the cemetery on the Steed homeplace, the original one, there was also another one out on the Geneva Road. These Steeds owned land or houses in and around Talbotton, GA, from 1828 to 1968. The other family names – Teal, Pearce – are from marriages with Steed women, so everybody there is related.

I used to clean up the cemetery whenever I could get down there. Wisteria takes over like nobody’s business. There were time when we went down there and could not even find it.

I have photos somewhere, but they predate digital and I would have a hard time finding them now.
