Directions: Located south-west of the City of Bushnell, take Interstate 75 south, take the Webster exit to County Rd 476B. The cemetery entrance is about 1/2 mile up the road.

Background: Florida National Cemetery, located in Withlacoochee State Forest in Sumter County, Florida, originated from land acquired by the federal government between 1936 and 1939 and later transferred to the Florida Board of Forestry in 1958. In 1980, the Department of Veterans Affairs selected the environmentally sensitive Withlacoochee site for Florida’s fourth national cemetery. The land was officially transferred to the VA on February 15, 1983, and the first interment took place in 1988.
