Directions: Located along the northeast side of Collier Ave, between Riverside Dr. and Central Ave, bordering up against I-15 freeway.

Background: In 1891 Peter Wall purchased 12 acres of land for a cemetery named, "Greenwood Cemetery".

There had been another cemetery in Lake Elsinore, on a "hilly site" known as the "old cemetery", located on Minthorn Street, east of Highway 71 (now I-15). Eight city pioneers buried between 1876 and 1890, were disinterred and moved to Greenwood Cemetery.

In 1923 the Elsinore Woman's Club and other organizations in the Valley took on the project to protect, beautify and take care of Greenwood Cemetery. In May of 1926 Greenwood Cemetery's name was changed to Elsinore Valley Cemetery. It was brought under a new ownership called, "Elsinore Valley Cemetery Association", a part of the greater Riverside Cemetery District.

In 1995 EVCD purchased the Jewish Cemetery known as Home of Peace, adjacent to the north side of the cemetery. Today, it remains a Jewish burial section in the Cemetery.
