Over the years it became the resting place for several thousand early settlers, including prominent local families and more than 500 war veterans. The grounds feature the West Coast’s first community mausoleum (completed in 1914) and are marked by the Pioneer Memorial Archway, donated in 1917 by Frederick A. Hartmann.
