Background: Garden of Memories Memorial Park was originally established as the I.O.O.F. Cemetery (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) in the early 1900s. Over time, the cemetery evolved to accommodate a broader community, leading to its renaming as Garden of Memories Memorial Park. The cemetery is perhaps best known as the final resting place of Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck.
