Background: Inglewood Park Cemetery is one of the oldest and largest memorial parks in Southern California. Established in 1905, the “lawn park” style burial ground quickly became a model for memorial parks nationwide. In 1928, the cemetery expanded with the construction of the massive Mausoleum of the Golden West, at the time the largest mausoleum in the world. Further developments followed, including the Manchester Garden Mausoleum in the 1930s and continuous expansions throughout the 20th century.
