Directions: Located northwest of Brawley, just barely outside of city limits, the cemetery sits along the east side of Western Ave, about 1/2 mile south of Highway 78.

Background: Riverview Cemetery was established in 1908 as a private cemetery. The cemetery district wasn't established until the 1950s. One section on the western area of the cemetery was once owned by the Catholic Church. However, in 1954 that parcel of land was deeded to Riverview Cemetery District by the Catholic Diocese of Los Angeles and Monterey. Several Japanese immigrants who worked in the agricultural fields are interred here. The district boundaries include the communities of Bombay Beach, Westmorland, Brawley.
