Background: The Yurok Veterans Cemetery, located at 28263 Bald Hills Road in Weitchpec, California, was established to honor Native American veterans, particularly those from the Yurok Tribe. Funded by a $3.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the cemetery officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 12, 2014 .
