Cemeteries in Aqueduct City (Unincorporated area)

Amador County, California, United States
Aqueduct City was a short-lived Gold Rush settlement in Amador County, California, established in the early 1850s. Named after a 130-foot-high wooden aqueduct that spanned the valley, the town emerged near Grass Valley, close to present-day Pine Grove. Early settlers like John Pero and Joseph Moran claimed land for farming in 1850, and by 1854, a sawmill operated in the area. The community grew to house several hundred residents, supported by ranching, milling, and mining activities. However, by 1881, as gold resources dwindled, the town declined, leaving behind few remnants. The Aqueduct City Cemetery, established in 1855, remains as a historical site, though it is located on private property and requires permission to visit.
