Background: ADVS broke ground at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Camp Navajo in 2014. The first interment at the cemetery was Navajo CodeTalker Alfred Peaches on May 9, 2016.

AVMC-Camp Navajo was made possible by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affair- State Cemetery Grant Service. The grant covered the construction and equipment needed to create the cemetery.
