History

Calverton National Cemetery was established in 1978. It was built on a 902-acre tract that was previously used as the U.S. Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant. Calverton National Cemetery is the third cemetery on Long Island, after burials reached capacity at Cypress Hills National Cemetery and Long Island National Cemetery.

Calverton is the largest, and one of the most active national cemeteries currently overseen by the National Cemetery Administration.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
