Burials in Bannockburn Cemetery are administered by Stirling Council, Scotland.

Cemetery History

Bannockburn Cemetery was built in the late 1890s as a successor to St. Ninian's Churchyard which neared capacity in terms of available land.

On 11 December 1934, Stirling Council agreed to expand the cemetery by purchasing 2 acres of land from James Ross of Skeoch Farm. But because of WWII, the Council was not able to begin the expansion until 12 March 1946, when they started to review plans. It wasn't until April 1950 when work commenced. On 14 July 1953, burials in the new extension finally began.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
