Driving Directions

Saint Sebastien is a scenic, small town between Lake Megantic and Thetford Mines on route 263. The cemetery is on rue Commerciale which becomes route de 1er Rang.

Cemetery History

The Parish was created in 1869. The first cemetery was closed in 1913 and the remains of those interred there were moved to the new cemetery at that time.

Cemetery Records

Records linked below were transcribed from tombstone inscriptions by Leslie and Susan Nutbrown during their visit to the cemetery in 2020. An additional 433 entries were transcribed from church records from the period of 1869-1940 for persons interred without monuments.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
