Cemetery History

Transcona Cemetery is located at the intersection of Dugald Road and the east Perimeter highway. The cemetery offers clients the use of upright monuments or flat markers. The cemetery is also home to the original Transcona Prayer Chapel, relocated here from downtown Transcona.

Transcona Cemetery was opened in 1914 by the municipality of Transcona and is now the final resting place of over 6,000 deceased persons. The cemetery is an important part of the community, having a separate Field of Honour where Veterans of WWI and WWII and Service Men and Women are interred.
