Directions:

From North Hatley take Sherbrooke Road to Route 143. Turn right on 143 and after a few miles watch for a road on the left called North Road. This road is gravel and you will stay on it for several miles. The cemetery is on the right side of this road and back from the road, before you get to the town of Hatley.

Background:

This pioneer cemetery is the oldest of the three burial grounds in Hatley. There used to be a church here at this site but now only a marker remains. The cemetery is maintained by the Old North Church Cemetery Association. They have done a splendid job with upkeep of the grounds and gravestones. Phyllis Skeats, of North Hatley, has written a book, "The Old North Church Pioneer Cemetery" and it would have more information than is presented here.
