Background:
Few places evoke the past like Kinnear Mills. An interesting blend of colonial church styles moved Quebec to grant the small village official status as an historic site in 1980. Scotchman, James Kinnear, after whom this community is named, was one of the main pioneers of Kinnear's Mills. He and his English-born wife, Harriet Wilson, are resting here.
The cemetery is owned and maintained by the Riverside Memorial Cemetery Association, and is still an active cemetery. It surrounds the Candlish United Church located in the center of the village, and as the name suggests, the Osgood River flows along one side of it. It is very well kept and the stones are in good shape.
