Directions: This cemetery can be reached by traveling North on Route 143, out of Richmond, Quebec, towards Drummondville, Quebec. Turn right onto Bogie Road and follow this road for approximately one mile until you reach the "Y" intersection. Make a right turn onto the First Range Road and you will find the cemetery about 200 feet from the roadside, on the top of a hill. It is easily missed since there is no sign at the road, so you must watch carefully for an entrance leading down into an opening in a wooded lot.

Background:

Charles Lawless and his wife, Mary Ann Husk, were the original pioneers who settled on this piece of land, and like a lot of other families at that time, they set aside a portion of their land as a burial ground. They were the first to be interred there. The neighbouring land was owned and occupied by members of the Husk family for over 100 years.

In the summer of 2005, a new fence was installed around this cemetery, as well as a new monument put up bearing the names of those interred there. It is now maintained by the Melbourne United Church Cemetery Committee.
