Background: When counties were abolished in 1979, this area formerly part of Arthabaska County became part of Centre du Quebec MRC.
The parish of Sainte-Elizabeth de Hongrie was created in 1872. The first cemetery here was on the opposite side of rue Principale and was moved to the present cemetery in 1901.
