Background: Saint-Rémi de Tingwick is a municipality in Tingwick Township, Arthabaska County, now part of the MRC of Centre du Québec. The early settlers were from Ireland, England and Scotland until about 1850 when French Canadians arrived from nearby communities. The parish was created in 1881 and is used today.
