Directions: From Richmond, take Route 116 to Danville. Continue on route 116 for several miles until you see Castlebar Road on your right. Turn here and after 1 km you will pass through Kingsey Station. Continue to a T in the road and turn left and a short distance watch for a gate on your right and a sign for the cemetery. The gate is mostly kept locked and so you will have to walk down the lane to get to another gate and the cemetery up on a knoll.
Background: Lorne Cemetery, also called the Church of the Epiphany Cemetery, is in a beautiful setting in a quiet area just outside the hamlet of Kingsey Station. The area was known as Lorne from about the 1890's when the Duke of Lorne stopped here while on a train trip. It has a nice fence and gate and a new sign and many old stones have been repaired. It dates from the 1870s and the most recent burial was in 2009.
