Added The Cemetery Column, an electronic journal on everything relating to cemeteries, including genealogy, preservation, art and architecture, business, history, etc.  Currently looking for people to contribute their writings.

Moved the cemetery records pages to its own subweb.  This way, when a search is conducted the only pages that will be searched are the cemetery records pages.  Previously, when a search was conducted, all pages, including the directories, and other supporting pages were included in the search.  This should narrow the number of hits.

Completed the second redesign of the website, and I what I think will be the basic page layout for years to come, though the colors and graphics may still change.  I created the new page banner graphic (at the top of the page).  The only problem with it is that it takes too long to load (about 4-6 seconds).  I want to get it down to 1-2 seconds.  E-mail me your thoughts on the new design.

Also started a new thing called the "Featured Photo".  This will feature a special photograph of a cemetery, tombstone, or memorial.  Photographs are submitted by site visitors, and selected by myself.  Eventually, I will create another set of pages to showcase all the previous "Featured Photos".

May 15, 1999

Did a little reorganization of the webpages on this site.  Created an "Add a Link" webpage.

Added some webpages to help people search for someone's burial site.  Lately, I have been getting e-mail from people asking me if know where their friends and family are buried.  Hopefully these pages will help.  Check out, "Help Finding an Interment".

Donald L. Oliver donated several burial records.  Though these records do not reflect complete interments at these cemeteries, there still are quite a few records collected:

I added a new Search Form for searching this website for cemeteries, places, or people.

This website is now 2 years old today!  What originally started out as a single page on my personal home site, is now 127 pages on its own domain!  In addition, this site now hosts 37 cemetery listings that other folks have produced.   Currently averaging about 1,500 user sessions per day.

This is the first installment of "What's New", a diary of developments here at "Cemetery Interment Lists on the Internet".

A few days ago, I redesigned the layout of the Australia site, by creating separate pages for each of the States.  One problem I noticed is that there does not seem to be a central resource of towns and the councils they are associated with.  As with the United States site, each state page is further subdivided by county.  I would like to do the same with Australia, but I'm having a difficult time cross referencing a town with its county, shire, or municipality.
