Cemeteries Flooded by the Grand Coulee Dam
The Grand Coulee Dam began construction in 1933 along the Columbia
River in Eastern Washington, and was completed in 1942, with modifications
made between 1967 to 1974, and 1982 to 1988.
Certain cemeteries located near the banks of the Columbia in places
that were expected to be flooded had to be evacuated, and bodies
relocated to other cemeteries.
