Take Rt. 2 North out of Parkersburg for about 10 miles. Turn right onto Rt. 31. Take the very first left on Rt. 31 (Old Rt.2/ St. Mary 's Pike). The church and cemetery are about mile on the right.

This cemetery is owned and maintained by the Bethel Presbyterian Church. The Church and cemetery are still active.

In the book "Pioneer Graveyards of Wood Co." by John A. House, this cemetery is referred to as the Sharp Cemetery. Many of the oldest graves are in the lower left section. Many of these stones are in very poor condition and hard to read. Many have fallen over and several are broken. Complete accuracy cannot be guaranteed, please verify with other sources.

I walked and transcribed all existing stones in this cemetery on Apr 21, 2003.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
