Rockhold Family Cemetery
Elizabeth, Wirt County, West Virginia

238 Wells Lock Rd
Elizabeth, WV
304-275-3378.

Contributed by Karen Cale Schauwecker, Aug 19, 2003 [karencale@aol.com]. Total records = 12.

This cemetery is located on the converted "Cale's Dairy Farm" to the "Mingo Bottom Golf Course". The cemetery is located on the 4th tee of the Golf Course.

There were eleven stones standing upright. Of the eleven, only six stones were readable. The rest of the stones inscriptions were washed away and illegible. Therefore these records do not represent all the people in the cemetery, but it is a complete reading of all legible stones.

The cemetery is in bad condition. They do not cut the grass and there are many other stones leaning against the tree stump and still others leaning against other headstones. The cemetery is on a hill, overlooking the golf course below. It is a beautiful sight. I don't believe they are accepting new burials, as the cemetery is on a golf course.

I walked and transcribed this cemetery on Aug 17, 2003.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
