Cowger Cemetery (Carpenter Cemetery)
Hacker Valley, Webster County, West Virginia

Lat: 38°39'28"N, Lon: 80°25'00"W

Contributed by Zelma Fisher, Jun 30, 2002, last edited Oct 09, 2006 [zelfish65@yahoo.com]. Total records = 25.

Direction is from Rt. 20 in Hacker Valley, Webster County, and WV. Turn onto Replete Rd. (Rt. 3) go approx. 1-mile turn left on bridge at Cowger Hill Rd. Proceed to top of hill, turn left, go past farm on left on the way up to top of next hill approx. 3/4 mile. At top of hill is old field, turn right go approx. 1/2-mile. Turn right again onto little road leading to cemetery.

Terry and Zelma Fisher took this information in June 2002, by walking the cemetery. Not sure if cemetery is still taking burials, there is plenty of space. This cemetery is also known as Carpenter Cemetery.

Cowger Cemetery is accessible by four-wheel drive only, as the better road is gated off.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
