Cogar Cemetery
Desert, Webster County, West Virginia

Lat: 38° 35' 41"N, Lon: 80° 21' 35"W

Contributed by Zelma Fisher, Oct 15, 2005 [zelfish65@yahoo.com]. Total records = 61.

From route 20, between Diana and Hodam Mt. Turn onto the Holly River Rd. (Jumbo) go 8/10 of a mile, do not cross bridge at church, go on upper dirt road. Go 3-3/10 miles turn right and go another 2/10 mile then turn left, cemetery ahead.

I did not find out who owns and maintains this cemetery. The cemetery is well kept and is still in use.

Terry and Zelma Fisher took this information on Oct 10, 2005, by walking the cemetery. It includes all existing and legible stones to that date.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
