Allstadt Cemetery
Jefferson County, West Virginia

Allstadt Hill Road
Harpers Ferry WV

Lat: 39°18'51"N, Lon: 77°46'27"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, Sep 02, 2003 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 18.

From Harpers Ferry, go west on Highway 340 until you hit Bakerton Road. Turn South on Bakerton Road and go .5 miles until you see a road with a dead end sign, turn there and go up the road about .25 miles. The cemetery is on the left side of the road with an old decaying wall surrounding it.

A small neglected cemetery. There is a lot of overgrowth of vegetation along with fallen and faded headstones. The first burial took place in thw 1820's with the last burial taken place in 1878. The sad part about this is that the family is still living around the cemetery and neglects to fix or take care of it.

I visited this cemetery on Aug 30, 2003.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
