Maddox Cemetery
Jackson County, West Virginia

Lat: 38° 56' 27"N, Lon: 81° 38' 05"W

Contributed by Teresa Fordyce, Jul 11, 2003 [s82c43@citynet.net]. Total records = 84.

The cemetery is located between Odaville and Lockhart on WV CR #21 (Old 21).

The Cemetery is located on a bank and is enclosed with a chain link fence. It is on private property but has public access. This cemetery is no longer in use.

A previous reading of this cemetery and county records list individuals reportedly buried in this cemetery that no markers were found for. These individuals are marked with an *. This may account for some of the unmarked graves and fieldstones.

This reading was transcribed by Rodney C. Maddox, who sent his notes to me for publication. I would like to give him the credit for the actual transcription and burial research.

cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
