Goldizen Cemetery
Grant County, West Virginia

Lat: 38° 01' 48"N, Lon: 79° 15' 01"W

Follow directions and signs south to Smoke Hole Caverns on Rte 28 from Petersburg, West Virginia. Go past the Caverns and take a right onto Jordan Run Road. Go to Kimble Poultry 1 & 2 and turn left.

There is a 'No Admittance' sign so be sure to stop at the house and ask for permission to go onto the property. Take a right at the house and go a few feet. Park and walk to the big gate and go into that field. Walk up the hill.

This is an old cemetery usually unmowed with some field stones that have no markings. It can not be determined if the unmarked stones are graves or not but some are in a row. This cemetery has not had much done to it in years so the stones are very hard to read. No burials since about 1941.

Amanda and Vallie Weese and I visited and read this cemetery in June 2002.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
