Walla Walla County, Washington

Contributed by Rella Gleaton Mar 13, 2001 [rella@ultraplix.com]. Total records = 4.

Knight Cemetery or Pettyjohn Cemetery in Walla Walla County is located between Prescott and Eureka, Wa. on a knoll above the Touchet River. It is said to be about 10 miles West of Prescott on the North side of the road about 1/8 mile off the road in the center of a wheat field in Sec 2 T9N R35E.

It was established in 1868 by Johnathan and Hannah Warner Pettyjohn at the death of their infant son. The number of burials is uncertain as it is now a plowed wheat field. In October of 1999 this cemetery was not found. This information is transcribed by Rella Gleaton from the records of Garland Wilson, area historian.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
